The importance of the festival is great. Sundance became a US cinema powerhouse, helping to launch the careers of Jim Jarmusch, Steven Soderbergh and Quentin Tarantino, among many others, creating seminal training schemes (or "labs") and seeing titles it premiered receive major distribution deals and Oscar recognition.
Cooper once exclaimed that its main mission is developing artists, but also developing audiences. I think it's a principally nes approach to cinematography! There's a move away from simply showcasing. I like Cooper's saying where he told about the impulse for why they do it, why they think these films are important, introducing new talent and new stories to the rest of the world.
In conclusion I'd like to say that Sundance Film Festival takes an extraodinary place among other film festivals. I like the Cooper's approach to the festival's organization, it's really interesting and amuzing.
