The author of the article emphasized that Jennifer Lawrence, Daniel Day-Lewis and Steven Spielberg have been named amongst the most influential people in the world by Time magazine.
The author somehow tried to analyse this TOP List. He told about Lawrence, this year's best actress Oscar-winner, and used in his article the opinion of Jodie Foster. She characterized Lawrence as a variously "ballsy", "a spritely tomboy", "a hoot" and "a gem with a killer stare".
Also Day-Lewis, another 2013 Oscar winner, is mentioned in the article. He won Oscar thanks to his role in Spielberg's Lincoln biopic. It's interesting that he film's scriptwriter Tony Kushner described him as "a deep-sea creature who's unexpectedly approachable and thoroughly delightful company". "The power and grace of Daniel's performances seem to emanate from something he's made contact with, deep within, intensely private and specific to his experience but also mysteriously universal" .
It should be mantioned that The list is not ranked, but is divided into the categories Titans, Leaders, Pioneers, Icons and Artists.Neither Lawrence nor Spielberg (Artists both) have made it onto the Icon list. Day-Lewis shares that honour with Beyonce, Justin Timberlake and Kate Middleton.
Personally I think that it is necessory to make such lists. To my mind it may somehow motivate the celebrities to be better, to develop themselves, to rich publicity.
